According to the Canadian Diabetes Association, more than two million Canadians have
diabetes. By the end of the decade, this number is expected to rise to three million.
(http://www.diabetes.ca/section_about/prevalence.asp). Diabetes Neuropathy occurs
when high blood sugar levels damage nerves, producing symptoms in approximately
40% of diabetics.  Mostly it affects the hands and feet, with symptoms of numbness,
tingling and pain, but can include burning and cold sensations.  Shingles (Herpes Zoster)
can leave lasting and painful nerve damage at the site of outbreak

By securing distribution and making it easier for Canadian consumers to buy Neuragen,
Origin has set their sites on the US, where the target market is ten times the size.
According to the American Diabetes Association, “20.8 million children and adults in the
United States, or 7% of the population, have diabetes. While an estimated 14.6 million
have been diagnosed, unfortunately, 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are unaware
that they have the disease.” (http://www.diabetes.org/about-diabetes.jsp)

Cervelli went on to point out that the company contracted Bob Berman, a 30 year
industry veteran and past Vice President of USA Drug and Mays Drug to help the
company navigate through the US Chain Drug Industry.

Cervelli states, “Mr. Berman knowledge of the market and solid relationships with key
people at Kerr Drug and USA Drug gave us immediate credibility and opened their doors
in a matter of weeks, rather than the norm of 6 to 12 months.”

Reached at his office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Berman says, “I was introduced to Bob and
Wayne at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores in San Diego this past August
and decided to join Origin BioMed due their unique products and the tremendous
progress they have made in such a short time.”

With deals signed at both Kerr and USA, Origin anticipates the start of a pilot campaign
by the first quarter of 2007.  Miller concludes, “After successfully building a track record
of positive performance at Kerr and USA, we will develop an entry strategy for CVS, and
Walgreens.”
