April 1, 2008, Halifax, Nova Scotia - Origin BioMed Inc., is pleased to announce several senior management additions to its team, required to address the company’s rapid growth and entry of its nerve pain management products into North American markets. Origin BioMed is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Turner, Chief Strategic Officer and Director; Tony Johnston, Chief Financial Officer; and Robert Silverstein, Senior Marketing Director.

Mr. Barry Turner retired from Warner-Lambert at the time when they were acquired by Pfizer in 2000. He was Vice-President of Global Complementary Medicine for 3 years, directly responsible for global development of their natural medicines business segment. Prior to that, he was President of Warner-Lambert Consumer HealthCare Canada for 4 years, with an earlier 6 years as Vice-President or Director of Marketing for Warner-Lambert Canada.

Mr. Tony Johnston is President & CEO of Compass North Inc., a management and advisory firm specializing in executive support services for growth oriented companies. Tony is a corporate finance and management expert with a CGA accounting designation and experience in co-founding a functional-genomics company, and CEO or CFO positions with private and public companies in manufacturing, technology, biotechnology, finance and commercial banking.

Mr. Robert Silverstein has a much diversified background and experience in marketing, sales and distribution operations. Most recently, he was National Sales Manager for Nikon Canada Inc. Instrument Division. He managed the marketing and sales of advanced imaging systems to life science facilities throughout Canada. Formerly, Robert was President and Owner of Scientific Equipment Inc. located in New Jersey for eleven years. Robert developed a robust understanding and vision of products and how to bring them to market while calling on pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Robert at one point represented sophisticated software for clinical trials and cGMP manufacturing management. As a consultant to a number of equipment manufacturers, he helped develop new products and their marketing programs.
